Welcome back, Gators! The first day of school is Monday, August 25 for Grades 1-8. Kindergarten begins on Thursday, August 28.
As students head back to class, here are a few announcements:
Issues with Talking Points Reported
Talking Points, the app used by the school and the district for communication, has been experiencing some issues. Please note that you should NOT need a code to sign into Talking Points - that is a system error. Dr. George has filed a technical support ticket, so we are hoping the issue will be resolved soon. In the meantime, Dr. George will make announcements through robo calls. You can also check our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Back-to-School Forms
Remember to fill out your child’s forms this week. This includes updated health and emergency contact information. Click here to access all forms.
Use Caution in the Parking Lot
Please remember to use caution while dropping off and picking up students in the parking lot! We want to keep every student and family member safe. Here are a few tips:
Follow the main traffic pattern, which is counter-clockwise around the perimeter of the lot.
At drop off, drive straight toward the main doors to drop off students, then continue around the perimeter of the lot to exit. Drivers should not get out of the car in the drop-off line, as this slows down the line and creates a traffic jam.
If you’ll be parking and walking with your student to the door, please park in straight lines without blocking other cars. When leaving, follow the counter-clockwise traffic pattern.
At afternoon pick up, the lot will close to traffic at 2:50 so students can safely board the bus. Cars must wait until the bus leaves before exiting the lot.
If you live nearby, consider walking to school! This is the best way to cut down on traffic in the lot and the surrounding neighborhood.
*Please note that traffic patterns may change in the parking lot after construction begins on the playground. Construction is scheduled to begin shortly after Labor Day. New instructions for the parking lot will be given at that time.
Fall Gator Gear Store Open
Do you need new Gator Gear? The online Gator Gear Store is open now through Sept. 24. Sweatshirts, sweatpants, and t-shirts are all available! You can choose whether to pick up your items at school or ship to your home.
September PTO Meeting
Save the date for the first PTO meeting of the year on Tuesday, Sept. 9 @ 6 pm. This meeting will be held in person at the school. Childcare will be provided. We will discuss our fall events and fundraisers. Hope to see you there!
