For Chris, With Thanks

The Greenfield School PTO, including officers, parents, staff, and students, mournfully acknowledges the passing of parent and volunteer Chris Ribarchak and offers our sincerest sympathy to Chris’s family—his dear son Christopher, beloved wife Ammie, loving parents, in-laws, siblings, and extended family.

Chris's presence in the Greenfield community will never be forgotten and his efforts and support of the school and PTO will be missed immeasurably. Always up for volunteering, Chris attended every PTO event, even the meetings. We could rely on Chris to not only put up the tents for Fun Day, but he would also monitor the kick ball station on those long, hot June days. And it is safe to say that without Chris’s directions, our PTO float for the 2018 holiday parade would have crashed into St. Rosalia’s as we tried to wind it through the driveway. It was always clear Chris liked seeing children play and have fun. He continuously went above and beyond to do his part to ensure the children of Greenfield had opportunities to enjoy being kids. He coached many of our Gators as part of the Greenfield Baseball Association and would often be found "talking baseball" with other parents at school pick-up in the afternoon. Moreover, he shared his culinary skills frequently, including providing much-needed meals to neighbors during the early days of the pandemic. Chris would always be under the Franklin Inn Mexican Restaurant tent at PTO events, cooking up delicious food and serving with a smile. It is impossible to imagine Pumpkinfest without him.
It is impossible to imagine Greenfield without him.

Chris would often wear the blue “You’ve Got a Friend in Greenfield” license plate shirt, and it is the memory of a smiling, kind, wonderful neighbor that is etched into the minds of so many of us. We are forever grateful to have been lucky enough to have called Chris “friend”, and we extend our care and compassion to Chris's family—forever Gators, forever Greenfield, forever in our hearts.
