Game Recaps

Greenfield vs. Sunnyside

After a three-year hiatus, the Greenfield Gators and Lady Gators were back on the court at Sunnyside yesterday. The boys played first and lost a close game by the score of 28-26. Griffin's last second shot (as unorthodox as it was!) almost went in for the win. Brayden led the way with 12 points, all three pointers, and was a force on the boards. Melvin contributed an additional seven points, Griffin and Roy each had three points, and Logan had two points. It was a well-balanced attack, with Harpreet, TJ, and Aiden coming off the bench to contribute, too.

The Lady Gators opened their season with a crushing victory. They won 46 to 1! It was an unbelievable game by Payton Lynch, who not only had 33 points, but also made sure every teammate scored--Madison, Giada, Amaya, Meljour, and Alexis all dropped buckets. It was a great way to start the season.

Go Gators!

Greenfield vs. Sterrett

The Gators came up a little short, but fought hard against a very athletic Sterrett team. Final score was 40-33. The Gators were led by Captain Griffin with 12 points and about 5 blocked shots. Melvin chilpped in an additional 4 points, and Brayden had 5 points and about 10 rebounds. Roy and Logan both played great defense and had a bucket each. The Gators had a guest player...Peyton Lynch who played very well amonst the boys scoring 8 points. The team agreed to let her play since the girls game was cancelled and she played great. Also, hats off to TJ, Harpreet, Ramy, Aiden, Cameron, Abdul, and Christopher who all got in and played great!

Greenfield vs. Colfax

The boys faced the number 1 team in the City and lost. They fought hard and never gave up. This game only had two scorers: Logan and Roy.

The Lady Gators remained undefeated by the score of 30 to 20. IT was a close game until the Gators dug down deep and scored 10 unanswered points in the 4th quarter. Payton played great and foughbt through a physical team, scoring 28 points. Madison "Mad Dog" played unbelievalbe defense, shutting down their #1 player. Amya, Alexis, and Giada played tough underneath the basket, even though the size advantage was noticeable. Meljour played great as point guard controlling the offense.

Greenfield vs. Sunnyside

It was a packed house at Magee to cheer on our Lady Gators and Gators vs. Sunnyside! The Lady Gators completed their goal of an undefeated regular season with a 29 - 9 victory. Payton led the way with 17 points, but got everyone involved. Amya scored 8 points, Meljour and Gianna chipped in with 2 each. Alexi and Madison continued to play great defense to shut down Sunnyside. It looks like the Lady Gators will get the number one seed for the playoffs.

In the second game of the double-header, the boys lost in a hard fought battle 30 to 24. After a tough first half where it seemed like nothing would go their way, the boys rallied in the second half to almost complete a great comeback. Melvin and Griffin led the way with 7 points each, and Jack and Brayden scored 5 each. Logan (who took an elbow to the eye) was a beast underneath. Ray also had to go under to help rebound against the much bigger team. Hats off to Harpreet, Christopher, Ayden, TJ, Cameron, and Abdul. Coach Gallagher couldn't be proudn of their performance. They played as  a TEAM!
